Vacancies in County Committee

NOTICE AND CERTIFICATION of
COUNTY COMMITTEE MEMBER RESIGNATION/REMOVAL

A vacancy occurs in the County Committee when conditions under Title 19:5-3 of NJ State Law are met.

Title 19:5-3 (in part)

When a member of a county committee ceases to be a resident of the district or unit from which elected, a vacancy on the county committee shall exist. A member of a county committee of any political party may resign their office to the committee of which they are a member, and upon acceptance thereof by the committee, a vacancy shall exist.

A signed and notarized letter from the County Chairperson must be filed with the County Clerk to identify vacancy. If the County Committee member is not available to sign letter, the notification will be accepted from the County Chairperson only.

NOTICE AND CERTIFICATION of
COUNTY COMMITTEE MEMBER APPOINTMENT

A County Committee vacancy may be filled by appointment in accordance with Title 19:5-2 and/or 19:5-3.
A signed and notarized letter from the County Chairperson must be filed with the County Clerk to identify the county committee appointment.
